All parents

• Halloween is this coming Thursday. Here are the rules and expectations for costumes. Students are able to wear costumes but are NOT allowed to wear masks or bring weapons. Students can paint only ½ of their face.
• Our Dual Immersion students will be learning and celebrating Dia de los Muertos. This Friday, teachers will have an altar set up so classes can view all altars with explanations from the teacher. 
• Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is not a Mexican version of Halloween. Though related, the two annual events differ greatly in traditions and tone. Whereas Halloween is a dark night of terror and mischief, Day of the Dead festivities unfold over two days in an explosion of color and life-affirming joy. Sure, the theme is death, but the point is to demonstrate love and respect for deceased family members.  Click the link to read more of Dia de los Muertos.
• We had our first ROAR assembly for Middle School. Students were recognized by their teachers for demonstrating what RESPECT looks like in and outside of the classroom.
• School Site Council in on Wednesday, October 30th from 3:30 to 4:40 PM

• Halloween es este próximo jueves. Aquí están las reglas y expectativas para los disfraces. Los estudiantes pueden usar disfraces pero no se les permite usar máscaras o traer armas. Los estudiantes pueden pintar solo la mitad de su cara.
• Nuestros estudiantes de doble inmersión aprenderán y celebrarán el Día de los Muertos. Este viernes, los maestros tendrán un altar establecido para que las clases puedan ver todos los altares con explicaciones del maestro.
• Día de los Muertos, o Día de los Muertos, no es una versión mexicana de Halloween. Aunque están relacionados, los dos eventos anuales difieren mucho en tradiciones y tono. Mientras que Halloween es una noche oscura de terror y travesuras, las festividades del Día de los Muertos se desarrollan durante dos días en una explosión de color y alegría que afirma la vida. • Tuvimos nuestra primera asamblea ROAR para la escuela secundaria. Los estudiantes fueron reconocidos por sus maestros por demostrar cómo se ve RESPETO dentro y fuera del aula.

All parents

• Today we had an earthquake and fire drill today. The students practiced how to duck and cover for a short period of time. Then students went into a fire drill where they walked from their classroom to a designated spot on either the grass or on the blacktop.
• Next week we are having Red Ribbon Spirit Week. Monday - Cozy Mondy, Tuesday - Tacky Tuesday, Wednesday - Wacky Wildcat Wednesday, Thursday - Red day (Wear RED), Friday - Spirit Day. 
• October 24th at 6:00 PM will be a PTO meeting. Please come.

• Este es un recordatorio de que tenemos nuestra recaudación de fondos de Kona Ice todos los viernes justo después de la escuela para estudiantes de primaria y secundaria.
• Hoy tuvimos un terremoto y un simulacro de incendio hoy. Los estudiantes practicaron cómo agacharse y cubrirse por un corto período de tiempo. Luego, los estudiantes entraron en un simulacro de incendio donde caminaron desde su aula hasta un lugar designado en el césped o en el asfalto.

• This is a reminder that we have our Kona Ice Fundraiser every Friday right after school for both elementary and middle school students.
• October 16th, we are having a dine and donate at Mary’s Pizza Shack. A flyer went home on Thursday. Please bring the flyer to Mary’s Pizza Shack when you order. This fundraiser is to raise money for our school to get incentives for students.
• Middle School Progress Reports are available online to view. If you need the progress report to be printed, please ask the office to print it. 
• For the month of August and September we had 261 students who had perfect attendance.  Students received a ticket for a free meal from Buffalo Wild Wings or BJs restaurant. We will be looking at improved attendance for the month of October.

• 16 de octubre, cenaremos y haremos una donación en Mary’s Pizza Shack. Un volante fue a casa el jueves. Por favor traiga el volante a Mary’s Pizza Shack cuando haga su pedido. Esta recaudación de fondos es para recaudar dinero para que nuestra escuela obtenga incentivos para los estudiantes.
• Los informes de progreso de la escuela intermedia están disponibles en línea para ver. Si necesita que se imprima el informe de progreso, solicite a la oficina que lo imprima.
• Para el mes de agosto y septiembre tuvimos 261 estudiantes que tuvieron asistencia perfecta. Los estudiantes recibieron un boleto para una comida gratis del restaurante Buffalo Wild Wings o BJs. Vamos a ver una mejor asistencia para el mes de octubre.

• This is a reminder that we have our Kona Ice Fundraiser every Friday right after school for both elementary and middle school students.
• 8th graders will be attending our Inspire Dreams Start Now career day field trip Tuesday, October 8th.  If you have not turned in the permission slip please make sure to return them Tuesday morning by 8:30 AM!
• Our first flag football game is Wednesday, October 9th at 

4:00 PM at PSA school. Come out and support our team!

• Our first volleyball game is Thursday, October 10th at
